Dylan and his dad, Dwayne. My two favorite men in the world.

Autism is a new adventure every day.

So far, among many other things, we’ve survived the diagnosis, the toddler years, our first IEP and eight years in the public school system. Now we’re entering into a whole new world … adolescence. We’ve relied pretty heavily on love and laughter to make it this far and I’m sure we always will.

I’d like to share our journey with others. For all of us affected by autism, our sense of community is our greatest tool for moving beyond the rough times and sharing the victories.

I can’t promise that what you’ll read here will ever be the most intelligent opinions you’ve ever seen but they’ll always be from my own experiences and from my heart.
